Wedding Music with More Romance than Valentine’s Day!

In honour of the most romantic day of the year, we bring you the debut Chippa blog!

Love it or loathe it, Valentine’s Day has the knack for giving us all the lovey-dovey feels and for the bride to be (or those who simply love to dream of their ideal wedding) it’s the perfect time to be inspired and ramp up the romance on your special day.

Whether you want to keep things traditional or plan to rock an alternative wedding, any ceremony can be ultra-romantic with the right music. So, for the month of love, here’s our pick of the most romantic wedding musicians to book for your big day!

Heartwarming sounds of the Harp

The harp is the oldest musical instrument in history as it has existed in every age on record. It is a symbol of peace and serenity and by far the most romantic of instruments! Harps bring out the sentimental and romantic side to any song making them a popular choice for a traditional church wedding. Book a harpist for your wedding ceremony to play whilst you make your big entrance and there won’t be a dry eye in the house! Katie Harp has been playing the Harp for over sixteen years and has studied with internationally renowned harpists. She plays classical and contemporary songs including A Thousand Years, Your Song and Over the Rainbow. Have a little listen to her rendition of The Nutcracker below.

Passionate Piano melodies

No other acoustic instrument has as much versatility as the piano. A trained pianist can play almost every genre – classical, rock, pop and gospel – so it’s an awesome choice for a variety of music on your wedding day. Oliver Piano has a residency at The Ritz (fancy!) and is one of our most prestigious pianists. He plays pop, jazz and classical music including songs by Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. But one of our favourite piano pieces is this dreamy medley by Loucas <3

The sweet sounds of a String Quartet

If you’re a traditional bride then a string quartet is for you. A unique collaboration of 4 musicians, this musical ensemble provides all the classical music you could need. String Quartets consists of two violins, a viola and a cello all of which could be expertly playing in harmony whilst you walk down the aisle!  The Vyne have received a number of prestigious awards and come highly recommended from other happy couples so check them out! Here’s a little taster of them playing the Bridal March…

A Violin to bring the electricity

Forget what you’ve heard from those scratchy notes you played at school, when you know what you’re doing with the violin it sounds incredible on a live stage! Our violinists play both romantic acoustic sets as well as vibrant electric performances covering classical, pop, rock, RnB and even House! Sally Violin is an energetic performer who brings a unique style to her performances guaranteed to wow you and your guests – make sure you check out her setlist!

Guitar riffs that are smooth and dreamy

Our solo guitarists are the masters of romantic melodies, wooing you with their beautiful arrangements of classic and modern love songs from the likes of John Legend, Ed Sheeran and The Beatles. Book a talented guitarist to perform an acoustic arrangement of your favourite love song for an unforgettable first dance as man and wife.

Stripped back Acoustics

Small and intimate weddings make the best audience for acoustic singers. Acoustic melodies and stripped back vocals are the dream combination for moving performances that will send your heart aflutter! Acoustic Alley are a young three piece band with amazing female vocals who cover artists such as Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder and Paolo Nutini.

Play that Sax

Get your guests in the groove of love with some sleek and sexy blues vibes. Hire a wedding saxophonist to play an atmospheric repertoire of romantic jazz for a sophisticated affair! Chippa have a mix of male and female sax performers for hire who have played worldwide and collaborated with some of the UK’s biggest music stars including Beverley Knight & The Ting Tings (we won’t list them all, we wouldn’t want to show off…)

We’ve got a load more blogs to come all for the bride to be! We’ll cover wedding music, entertainers and unique ideas for your big day! But for now if you’re looking for some more wedding inspo check out the Chippa Facebook or follow us on Pinterest!
